These watches are sure to appeal to a wide range of watch lovers, from beginners to aficionados. Please take your time to appreciate the watches, each with intricate details.

Contemporary Collection Modern Skeleton

Orient Star’s bestseller around the world is the Modern Skeleton. The secret to its appeal lies in its stylish and unique design that allows you to get a glimpse of the mechanical movement through the dial. While the Modern Skeleton, first introduced in 2014, had mainly consisted of classic colour schemes, new stylish colour variations were added to mark its 10th anniversary. With dials that colour-coordinate with the bezel and case, these new models give a more stylish impression compared to the previous stately colour schemes. Here, we introduce the Modern Skeleton with green (right) and silver (left) dials, which are both popular colours among the standard colour lineup, along with two special edition models, including one in a limited-edition 10th anniversary colour.

Appreciating the Working Mechanical Movement

What is appealing about the semi-skeleton is the ability to admire the working movement (calibre F6F44). The bold open work of the dial at 2, 6, and 9 o’clock positions allows one to enjoy the beautiful movement and design, and the oscillation of the balance wheel at the 9 o’clock position.

Design with Excellent Legibility

The model is mounted with calibre F6F44 that offers a power reserve of 50 hours with the power reserve indicator positioned at 12 o’clock. The layout and finish that takes legibility into consideration even with similar colours as the dials is also worth mentioning. Additionally, the three-faced hour and minute hands, which feature both hairline and mirror finishes, are equipped with Luminous Light for higher visibility in low-light conditions.

Contemporary Collection Standard

The Standard from the Contemporary Collection is the basic model and true staple of Orient Star fitting for diverse settings, both business and casual. In addition to its refined design, it features water resistance to 10 bar, an accuracy of +25 to -15 seconds per day, and a 50-hour power reserve, making it one of the best-performing mechanical watches in its price range. In addition to basic colours such as black and silver from previous models, new colours have been introduced with subdued earthy tones as the key colour. With a broader range of dial colours, this model will go well together with any of your favorite outfits. This watch is sure to add some fun to your daily routine of selecting watches.

Dial with Strong Contrast

There is a ring around the periphery of the dial that resembles the grooves of an analogue record that adds a unique texture. The leaf-shaped hands cut on three sides are equipped with Luminous Light.

Three-Dimensional Indices

The finishes of the multifaced, three-dimensional indices are also a key feature. The case features both hairline and mirror finishes, creating an edgy look.

Contemporary Collection Layered Skeleton

One of the most notable trends in watch design today is nuanced colour tones. As you might already know, nuanced colours are blurred intermediate colours that look as if multiple colours are mixed, often used in fashion and makeup. The key feature of the Layered Skeleton is its depth and elegant design that comes from the two layered dials. The newly introduced models in champagne gold, (right) and limited-edition mint green (left) are inspired by the casual attire at a luxurious resort. The dials with their translucent and refined colour schemes add a classy and effortless elegance that is somewhat different from the feel of the basic black and white dials to your look.

Subtle Two-Tone Design

The semi-skeleton opening at 9 o’clock is designed in a paisley shape so that the visible portion of the movement is expanded, giving it more depth and elegance.

The Beauty of Mechanical Timepieces

The working mechanical movement (calibre F6F44) can be seen from the see-through case back for the wearers to enjoy. The decoration on the movement—the perlage finishing (small round polished patterns) on the bridges and the Geneva stripes (delicate striped pattern with ripples as its motif) on the automatic rotor—is also worth mentioning.
